With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Čech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 34 minutes into the match, Sportivo Constitución's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Marti came free, but Segundo Maule reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute Siro Argenis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petr Čech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Siro Argenis in the 37th minute. After a rather tough play, Algarrobo's Romeo Halat got a free kick in the 39th minute. Siro Argenis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Petr Čech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Cordara, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Vinos Chaparro's late challenge caught a Sportivo Constitución's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinos Chaparro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Algarrobo getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Vinos Chaparro hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Desiderio Marti to make the kick off. Petr Čech came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sportivo Constitución's Siro Argenis. But to his dismay, Siro Argenis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of Algarrobo booed when Sportivo Constitución was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Siro Argenis didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Algarrobo getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Vinos Chaparro hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Rodolfo Cordara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Siro Argenis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 72 minutes, Siro Argenis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Sportivo Constitución's goal looked a bit too open when Adriel Argandoña came free, but Segundo Maule reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Romeo Halat could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Segundo Maule however easily saved by the left post. When Adriel Argandoña came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Algarrobo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriel Argandoña couldn't finish the play. Francisco Martín Olivar kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
