Dinamo Colorado's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Independiente the free kick. After a rather tough play, Dinamo Colorado's Gualter Lago got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 3rd minute of the match Arturo Jesco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vitório Andrade showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Andres D'Alessandro fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dinamo Colorado's protests and gave Andres D'Alessandro a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Dinamo Colorado got a freekick which was hit by Andres D'Alessandro. Tomás Cordaryal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Vitório Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dinamo Colorado's Vitório Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Cordaryal in the 15th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Independiente's goalkeeper Christian Muc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcel Matos. Christian Muc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 29 minutes into the match, Independiente's Tomás Cordaryal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vitório Andrade narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Feliciano Jaunti made a precise shot to the right of Vitório Andrade. Dinamo Colorado's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Adolfo Policarpio kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldo Simões came free, but Christian Muc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Amado Pacorro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Vitório Andrade was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Feliciano Jaunti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Dinamo Colorado booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arturo Jesco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute Erasmo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Muc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinamo Colorado's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Loureiro in the 54th minute. Carlos Loureiro made a great header on Dinamo Colorado's corner, it was just that Independiente's Christian Muc managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 58th match minute, Dinamo Colorado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Mazza to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Tomás Cordaryal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Feliciano Jaunti in the 67th minute of play forced Dinamo Colorado's goalkeeper Vitório Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Muc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesinha Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Loureiro made a great header on Dinamo Colorado's corner, it was just that Independiente's Christian Muc managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Independiente booed when Dinamo Colorado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bolívar Colorado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitório Andrade was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Arturo Jesco. With a little luck, Dinamo Colorado's Vitório Andrade got control of the ball when Feliciano Jaunti tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 87th minute, Erasmo Martins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christian Muc was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Christian Muc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Matos in the 93rd minute of the match. Vitório Andrade made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Feliciano Jaunti sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Independiente had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
