In the 21stth minute of the game Feliciano Jaunti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sportivo Constitución's Haroldo Raymon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Feliciano Jaunti took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haroldo Raymon. Haroldo Raymon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the Sportivo Constitución defense, Feliciano Jaunti kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Haroldo Raymon. The Sportivo Constitución fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Haroldo Raymon should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Sportivo Constitución getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Alonzo Chumo hit a great ball. Independiente's Arturo Jesco managed to work through Sportivo Constitución's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Arturo Jesco dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 35th minute, Alonzo Chumo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
