Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro managed to reach the ball for a save. When Conrad Carrington fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Independiente's protests and gave Conrad Carrington a yellow card for diving instead. In the 12th minute, Conrad Carrington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudio Arzeno's late challenge caught a OxentePaisa Salcity's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudio Arzeno helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Claudio Arzeno. C. A. Independiente's Claudio Arzeno got his second yellow card of the match in the 15th minute. The referee ordered Claudio Arzeno off the ground. In the 16th minute, Claudio Arzeno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilson Fernandez hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodney Urbina got free with Murilo Peixoto in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. OxentePaisa Salcity's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Rodney Urbina scored to the left of an out of position Murilo Peixoto, making the score, 1-0. In the 43rd minute, Gilson Fernandez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Hayden Winslow took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Murilo Peixoto to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodney Urbina was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of OxentePaisa Salcity booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hayden Winslow didn't get a good kick on the ball. OxentePaisa Salcity's Murilo Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hayden Winslow in the 68th minute of play. After 73 played minutes OxentePaisa Salcity got a freekick which was hit by Válbson Valle. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodney Urbina in the 77th minute of play forced OxentePaisa Salcity's goalkeeper Murilo Peixoto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Murilo Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Becerra in the 85th minute of play. Válbson Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Ángel Santoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Válbson Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. 94 minutes into the match, OxentePaisa Salcity's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Becerra came free, but Murilo Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, OxentePaisa Salcity's Kléberson Martins got a free kick in the 96th minute. C. A. Independiente walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
