Heitor Horta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silas Marinho in the 4th minute of the match. Scarlet Speedster's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Altino Guerreiro scored to the left of an out of position Eurico Diniz, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Scarlet Speedster getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dalmo Paranaense hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Altino Guerreiro got free with Eurico Diniz in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 15th minute of the match, Eusébio Leão got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eurico Diniz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Jesualdo Soveral fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponte do Carro's protests and gave Jesualdo Soveral a yellow card for diving instead. 15 minutes into the game, one of Ponte do Carro:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 18 minutes into the game, Eusébio Leão cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Eurico Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Altino Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Scarlet Speedster's Jânio Guimarães got a free kick in the 28th minute. Eurico Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Lucena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Scarlet Speedster getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Célio Nóbrega hit a great ball. Máximo Malafaia kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Silas Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scarlet Speedster's supporters rose to their feet, but Silas Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heitor Horta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Máximo Malafaia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Diniz having to interfere. Jesualdo Soveral got his second yellow card in the match during the 48th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Jesualdo Soveral hit a great freekick 49 minutes into the match. When Zézinho Vargas came up free with the goalie in the 49th minute, the Scarlet Speedster fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zézinho Vargas couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eusébio Leão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernandinho Loureiro. Eurico Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimiro Corte-Real in the 57th minute of the match. Eurico Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Altino Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Lucena during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Scarlet Speedster booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Lucena didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Eusébio Leão came free, but Eurico Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandinho Loureiro in the 75th minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Heitor Horta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Altino Guerreiro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The Scarlet Speedster fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Scarlet Speedster's Fernandinho Loureiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 83 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Máximo Malafaia came free, but Eurico Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Corte-Real came free, but Eurico Diniz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Scarlet Speedster's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 87th minute Reinaldo Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Horta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Veríssimo Taveira charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Veríssimo Taveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eurico Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimiro Corte-Real in the 93rd minute of play. When Vladimiro Corte-Real got free in front of the goal in the 93rd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Eurico Diniz was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Eurico Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusébio Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Alexandre Lucena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fernandinho Loureiro struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Heitor Horta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Scarlet Speedster.
