The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Gärsnäs BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Nyqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gärsnäs BF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wang Cheng should have stopped the shot. Ciprian Ghioane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bo Drake in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Gavril Groza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, FC Buzău's Pompiliu Balaban got a free kick in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Buzău's zone, Timmy Ahlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciprian Ghioane came out of the goal and Timmy Ahlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Pompiliu Balaban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wang Cheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bo Drake kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half FC Buzău were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pompiliu Balaban made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Mihail Gherdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wang Cheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Buzău's Ciprian Ghioane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Drake in the 54th minute of play. Wang Cheng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mihail Gherdan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Ingvar Nyqvist left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gärsnäs BF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Gärsnäs BF were furious when Karl-Johan Magnusson was red carded, 72 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gärsnäs BF! When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, FC Buzău's Ionel Lung got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Wang Cheng. After a rather tough play, Gärsnäs BF's Ingvar Holm got a free kick in the 77th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Wang Cheng successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gärsnäs BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timmy Ahlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
