Marc Richter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Ciempa having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halldor Sönksen in the 7th minute of play forced Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Stefan Ciempa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Robertas Lewandowski fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zielonka Gdansk's protests and gave Robertas Lewandowski a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Zielonka Gdansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robertas Lewandowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Stefan Ciempa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Robertas Lewandowski was shown his second yellow card after 17 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Zielonka Gdansk getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Robertas Lewandowski hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute of the match SV Bad Harzburg got a corner. Zielonka Gdansk's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Roswin Schön ran over to the corner to take the kick. SV Bad Harzburg's Roswin Schön was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Stefan Ciempa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. SV Bad Harzburg's Tim Wiese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leszek Scigan in the 24th minute of play. When Eugen Boedefeld fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SV Bad Harzburg's protests and gave Eugen Boedefeld a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Zielonka Gdansk booed when SV Bad Harzburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eugen Boedefeld didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mariusz Borowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Tim Wiese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Zielonka Gdansk's Krzysztof Kluska nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tim Wiese made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Stefan Ciempa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marc Richter's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute, Marek Mojsiewicz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tim Wiese, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Zielonka Gdansk's Leszek Scigan got a free kick in the 44th minute. Marc Richter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Halldor Sönksen in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stefan Ciempa saved Zielonka Gdansk from getting behind. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Krzysztof Kluska was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eckard Döngelli in the 53rd minute of play forced Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Stefan Ciempa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Ciempa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc Richter in the 57th minute of the match. John Rambo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Ciempa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Halldor Sönksen in the 64th minute of play. Marek Mojsiewicz charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marek Mojsiewicz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marek Mojsiewicz hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Marc Richter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Stefan Ciempa made a huge save. A hard shot 70 in the game by Marc Richter from a close distance when the talented Stefan Ciempa managed to make a qualified save. Zielonka Gdansk's players were relieved. Tim Wiese showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Kluska in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, SV Bad Harzburg's Halldor Sönksen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The supporters of SV Bad Harzburg booed when Zielonka Gdansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariusz Borowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th match minute, Zielonka Gdansk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leszek Scigan to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, John Rambo took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Stefan Ciempa to make any attempt to save it. When SV Bad Harzburg's Halldor Sönksen in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Stefan Ciempa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
