An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Claude Van Damme in the 9th minute of play forced Gladiator FC's goalkeeper Aurelio Epifani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aurelio Epifani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 14th minute of the match. After 15 minutes, Bianco Carozza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gladiator FC and the MAFFIAN players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kjell-Arne Hultman made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Aldo Ubriaco sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Gladiator FC booed when MAFFIAN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Josefsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Ferruccio Rinaldi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gladiator FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferruccio Rinaldi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kjell-Arne Hultman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
