An unexpectedly hard shot by Wit Dubilas in the 25th minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Michael Klack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in MAFFIAN's zone, Zygmunt Szostak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kjell-Arne Hultman came out of the goal and Zygmunt Szostak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wit Dubilas hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wit Dubilas in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Wit Dubilas came free, but Kjell-Arne Hultman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teofil Lanczak made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Jean-Claude Van Damme sent off a good shot on target. Michael Klack struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Teofil Lanczak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MAFFIAN. 40 minutes into the match, Szalone Konie's Öztürk Varan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kjell-Arne Hultman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kjell-Arne Hultman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franciszek Kloczko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Arnold Schwarzenegger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofil Lanczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
