An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Bombarda in the 20th minute of play forced MAFFIAN's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Hultman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinier Polak in the 21st minute of play. Steve Spoel kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Sylvester Stallone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, ASV Muziekwijk's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Claude Van Damme came free, but Thomas Hoogsteen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Hoogsteen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Claude Van Damme, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Sylvester Stallone took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thomas Hoogsteen. ASV Muziekwijk's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steve Spoel got free with Kjell-Arne Hultman in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thomas Hoogsteen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 39th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Mariano Bombarda managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASV Muziekwijk's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Bombarda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kjell-Arne Hultman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jean-Claude Van Damme made the kick off in the second half. When Raymond Huisingh fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ASV Muziekwijk's protests and gave Raymond Huisingh a yellow card for diving instead. 53 minutes into the match, ASV Muziekwijk's goalkeeper Thomas Hoogsteen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Claude Van Damme. After 55 played minutes ASV Muziekwijk got a freekick which was hit by Tom Houtman. MAFFIAN's Elliott Beckeman was substituted for Christer Wassenius. Arnold Schwarzenegger was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. MAFFIAN's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. ASV Muziekwijk's Thomas Hoogsteen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 63rd minute of play. After 65 minutes, Sylvester Stallone mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAFFIAN and the ASV Muziekwijk players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th minute, Sylvester Stallone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MAFFIAN's Kjell-Arne Hultman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Bombarda in the 68th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Mariano Bombarda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reinier Polak in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kjell-Arne Hultman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, ASV Muziekwijk's Tom Houtman got a free kick in the 94th minute. Sylvester Stallone struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Thomas Hoogsteen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MAFFIAN. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. MAFFIAN walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
