The audience thought a goal was coming when Juan Mendieta got free with Jefferson Goiano in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Buenaventura FC's Elias Benavides was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jefferson Goiano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Xiboquinha FC's Jefferson Goiano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Xiboquinha FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Xiboquinha FC defense, Andrés Chavez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jefferson Goiano. The Xiboquinha FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jefferson Goiano should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomás Quintal to make the kick off. Jefferson Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrés Chavez in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Xiboquinha FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Joélson Lopez hit a great ball. 54 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés Chavez came free, but Jefferson Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Goiano having to interfere. Xiboquinha FC's Jefferson Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Martinez in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute Pablo Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jefferson Goiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cheito Brandao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 96 minutes into the match, Xiboquinha FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Martinez came free, but Jefferson Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
