Ruperto Mendez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remir Moreira having to make a save. Remir Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltazar Fonticoba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the game, Baraquiel Naranjo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Valleslona F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO the free kick. A collision led to Valleslona F.C. getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Baraquiel Naranjo hit a great ball. Remir Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baltazar Fonticoba in the 10th minute of the match. Juan Viqueira kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Remir Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltazar Fonticoba, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Baltazar Fonticoba in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Raúl Martínez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Xabel Beloki made a huge save. Ruperto Mendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remir Moreira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Xabel Beloki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raúl Martínez. In the 42nd minute Ruperto Mendez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remir Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruperto Mendez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Remir Moreira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruperto Mendez in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute, Baltazar Fonticoba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remir Moreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. In the 59th minute of the match, Ruperto Mendez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Remir Moreira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruperto Mendez got free with Remir Moreira in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Ruperto Mendez got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Carles Astudillo hit a great ball. Ruperto Mendez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Remir Moreira came out and tried to block the shot, but Ruperto Mendez slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Maureo Colsa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ruperto Mendez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Remir Moreira made a huge save. After having played for 77 minutes, Ruperto Mendez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruperto Mendez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xabel Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Martínez in the 79th minute of the match. Ruperto Mendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Remir Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Anter Titos came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anter Titos couldn't finish the play. Remir Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baltazar Fonticoba in the 89th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Baltazar Fonticoba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remir Moreira was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
