After 2 minutes, Juan Viqueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO and the MAZER SAF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 2 played minutes ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO got a freekick which was hit by Juan Viqueira. In the 5th minute Igor Coronado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Coronado came free, but Xabel Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xabel Beloki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Coronado, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the game, Igor Coronado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Xabel Beloki. Igor Coronado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Anter Titos hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Xabel Beloki made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Thiago Motta sent off a good shot on target. Thiago Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Xabel Beloki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xabel Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ángel Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ángel Romero in the 17th minute of play. Toninho Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cugat Marines in the 21st minute of the match. After 22 played minutes ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO got a freekick which was hit by Juan Viqueira. Thanks to some nice moves Héctor Hernández could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Xabel Beloki however easily saved by the left post. The supporters of MAZER SAF booed when ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cugat Marines didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Coronado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Xabel Beloki skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Igor Coronado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Xabel Beloki made a huge save. MAZER SAF's Thiago Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match Thiago Motta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Xabel Beloki skillfully saved the ball. Xabel Beloki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Motta in the 42nd minute of play. Xabel Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Coronado in the 44th minute of the match. Baltazar Fonticoba's late challenge caught a MAZER SAF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltazar Fonticoba helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Baltazar Fonticoba got a free kick in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

In the 53rd match minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glenn Tipton to maneuver through the defense. The audience held their breath when Thiago Motta in the 55th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Xabel Beloki's left hand side. In the 60th minute Igor Coronado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xabel Beloki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xabel Beloki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Juan Viqueira got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 74 minutes, Igor Coronado made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Xabel Beloki tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Héctor Hernández in the 78th minute of play forced ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Xabel Beloki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Coronado came free, but Xabel Beloki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MAZER SAF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Ruperto Mendez scored to the left of an out of position Toninho Schmidt, making the score, 3-1. Ángel Romero took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xabel Beloki. Xabel Beloki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Xabel Beloki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Coronado in the 93rd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the game, Glenn Tipton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MAZER SAF the free kick. Glenn Tipton kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Xabel Beloki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Héctor Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
