After a defensive mix-up in El Pinar's zone, Sotiris Vergos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Haroldo Villaquilambre came out of the goal and Sotiris Vergos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Haroldo Villaquilambre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sotiris Vergos's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. With an all-out effort, Branco FC's Haroldo Villaquilambre threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cecilio Silbestre, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute Fulgencio Lazaeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Iigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Branco FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Pinar had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
