An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim McCann in the 22nd minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Vitor José to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carlos Alberto Viana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ilie Marghescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milton Alvarez in the 38th minute of play forced S.E.R. Moron's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by S.E.R. Caxias do Sul. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dep. Moron were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rashad Werner made a kick off. A collision led to Dep. Moron getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jim McCann hit a great ball. In the 54th minute of the match Giovanni Soeiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ilie Marghescu skillfully saved the ball. Moron's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E.R. Caxias do Sul the free kick. After 59 played minutes Dep. Moron got a freekick which was hit by Casey Redmond. Jonas Veloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to S.E.R. Caxias do Sul getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Iuri Paranaense hit a great ball. In the 66th match minute, Dep. Moron was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Casey Redmond to maneuver through the defense. When Carlos Alberto Viana came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Alberto Viana couldn't finish the play. Vitor José showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rashad Werner, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. The supporters of Dep. Moron booed when S.E.R. Caxias do Sul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitor José made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jim McCann in the 74th minute. In the 78th minute, Rashad Werner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute, César Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitor José stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rashad Werner's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. After having played for 84 minutes, Milton Alvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dep. Moron's supporters crossed their fingers, but Milton Alvarez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When César Sá fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's protests and gave César Sá a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th minute, César Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ari Giles fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's César Sá got a free kick in the 91st minute. Mario Grana got his second yellow card in the match during the 93rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A very good chance. The Dep. Moron players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
