The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serginho da Silva during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rashad Werner made a kick off. Jim McCann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Grêmio Prudente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
