The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Severino lago got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Pinhote FC's Higino Pessoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zdeněk Skalník in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute of the match FC Kopeto got a corner. Pinhote FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ivo Vošický ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FC Kopeto's Ivo Vošický to fire away a dangerous shot which Higino Pessoa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Américo Severo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Nikita Kráčmar. 11 minutes into the game, Severiano Prates was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pinhote FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kopeto the free kick. In the 12th match minute, Pinhote FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Severiano Prates to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, František Žiga had to leave the field with a concussion. Severino lago charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Severino lago the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Kopeto booed when Pinhote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pinhote FC's Dércio Brandão got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 32nd minute, Pinhote FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ivo Vošický fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. FC Kopeto's Nikita Kráčmar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Severo in the 44th minute of play. Zdeněk Skalník sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 59th minute Ivo Vošický shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higino Pessoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Isidoro Rijo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinhote FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Rijo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nikita Kráčmar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute Zdeněk Skalník shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higino Pessoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Pinhote FC booed when FC Kopeto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petr Fejtek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikita Kráčmar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermenegildo Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Zdeněk Skalník had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. FC Kopeto's Ivo Vošický got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the game, Zdeněk Skalník was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Kopeto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pinhote FC the free kick. Zdeněk Skalník hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Pinhote FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pinhote FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
