All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 69th minute, Rigoberto Tello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manual Hope recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Black Rose 1979 defense, Manual Hope kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zacarias Abreu. The Black Rose 1979 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zacarias Abreu should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Black Rose 1979 getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Black Rose 1979 players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
