Spectators: 7671 (Terracing: 5754, Seating: 1764, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Claudinei de Alcântara started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Váldson de Sena. Sérgio Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Lara in the 4th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Raimundo Camargo during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Raimundo Camargo kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A collision led to WAU team getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Claudinei de Alcântara hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Nestor Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot. WAU team's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Lara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Queiroz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Vítor Reis hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Evandro Ortiz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eliseu de Brito. 17 minutes into the game, Dênis Tande cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Sérgio Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Evandro Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Váldson de Sena in the 22nd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, WAU team's goal looked a bit too open when Fabinho Vasconcelos came free, but Evandro Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Koehler to maneuver through the defense. Raimundo Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Ortiz having to interfere. When Eliseu de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capibaribe Stars's protests and gave Eliseu de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Eliseu de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of WAU team booed when Capibaribe Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nico Penha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evandro Ortiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Camargo in the 37th minute of the match. After 38 minutes of play, WAU team's Claudinei de Alcântara made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sérgio Queiroz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Raimundo Camargo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Camargo got free with Evandro Ortiz in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raimundo Camargo was the one to do the kick off. Sérgio Queiroz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Lara went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Evandro Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu da Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinei de Alcântara took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Queiroz. Sérgio Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 70 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Vágner Siqueira came free, but Sérgio Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Capibaribe Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseu de Brito to maneuver through the defense. In the 78thth minute of the game Raimundo Camargo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but WAU team's Evandro Ortiz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 90 minutes into the game, Kiko Capixaba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Sérgio Queiroz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Capibaribe Stars fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. WAU team were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
