Wannes De Tapp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oswald Van den Panhuizen struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Nico Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Invictus FC. Nico Penha made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Lennart De Keyser sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the game, Invictus FC's Lennart De Keyser nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nico Penha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Wannes De Tapp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Camargo in the 29th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the game, Sandrinho Pinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capibaribe Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Invictus FC the free kick. After 36 played minutes Capibaribe Stars got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Pinho. Capibaribe Stars's Nico Penha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lennart De Keyser in the 38th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Fabinho Vasconcelos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capibaribe Stars's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Invictus FC the free kick. The supporters of Invictus FC booed when Capibaribe Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabinho Vasconcelos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseu de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Oswald Van den Panhuizen struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Nico Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Invictus FC. In the 45th minute, Invictus FC's Gert Sterckx ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nico Penha. Nico Penha yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Raimundo Camargo made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Víktor Terra threw the ball into play from the sideline. Invictus FC's Jamie van Elderen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franck Bormans in the 53rd minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Nico Penha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Víktor Terra hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franck Bormans during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 60th minute, Franck Bormans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th match minute, Invictus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan De Smet to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, Víktor Terra threw the ball into play from the sideline. Invictus FC's Jamie van Elderen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lennart De Keyser took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nico Penha. Nico Penha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. After 83 played minutes Invictus FC got a freekick which was hit by Gert Sterckx. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Invictus FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Capibaribe Stars had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
