When Mugurel Cezar fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emerald's protests and gave Mugurel Cezar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Hélder Mendes made a precise shot to the right of Martin Găvănescu. Emerald's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Martin Găvănescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Inter Gala's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Diculescu came free, but Luís Eduardo Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agostinho Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Martin Găvănescu made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Emerald's goalkeeper Martin Găvănescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélder Mendes. In the 41st minute Celso Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Găvănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes Emerald got a freekick which was hit by Albert Dășanu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandu Claudiescu in the 44th minute of play forced Inter Gala's goalkeeper Luís Eduardo Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Emerald made a substitution. Nechifor Ilie replaced Sorin Jitaru. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Araújo to make the kick off. André Garcia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 65 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Inter Gala fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! Inter Gala:s Luís Eduardo Valle showed great skill when he stopped Mugurel Cezar:s penalty. Sandu Claudiescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Luís Eduardo Valle made a huge save. Luís Eduardo Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Diculescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basarab Tâlvescu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Luís Eduardo Valle when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Flavius Stoicea hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute Agostinho Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Găvănescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Angheluș kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Luís Eduardo Valle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sandu Claudiescu in the 99th minute. Inter Gala were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Emerald for a fine match.
