The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Cedric Van Landewijck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Eustratios Vertsotis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Alexis Dellios managed to get in a good position for a shot. Olympiacos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexis Dellios was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jo Maerschalcx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Markos Kareklopoulos hit a great ball. In the 23rd match minute, SK Dreigoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cedric Van Landewijck to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SK Dreigoten booed when Olympiacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fotis Nousias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustratios Vertsotis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lex Haesevoets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eustratios Vertsotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per Qvalfeldt in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Olympiacos FC's goalkeeper Eustratios Vertsotis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per Qvalfeldt. In the 37th minute, Luukas Van Halbeeck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Thanos Panagiotatos hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luukas Van Halbeeck got free with Eustratios Vertsotis in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Olympiacos FC's Eustratios Vertsotis got control of the ball when Luukas Van Halbeeck tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dimitris Koudas made a kick off. Jo Maerschalcx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Soulis Partalis in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th match minute, SK Dreigoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Van de Velde to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitris Koudas came free, but Jo Maerschalcx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luukas Van Halbeeck hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Cedric Van Landewijck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SK Dreigoten defense, Dimitris Koudas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jo Maerschalcx. The SK Dreigoten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jo Maerschalcx should have stopped the shot. Olympiacos FC's Eustratios Vertsotis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cedric Van Landewijck in the 75th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Olympiacos FC got a freekick which was hit by Fotis Nousias. Luukas Van Halbeeck's late challenge caught a Olympiacos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luukas Van Halbeeck helped the player get up and apologised. Luukas Van Halbeeck kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. SK Dreigoten's Jo Maerschalcx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitris Koudas in the 82nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cedric Van Landewijck in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eustratios Vertsotis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 86th minute, Nikiforos Valaoras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eustratios Vertsotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Hermes in the 88th minute of play. Eustratios Vertsotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cedric Van Landewijck in the 90th minute of the match. Eustratios Vertsotis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luukas Van Halbeeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 94 minutes, Nikiforos Valaoras mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Olympiacos FC and the SK Dreigoten players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, one of Olympiacos FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Olympiacos FC. Olympiacos FC:s Eustratios Vertsotis showed great skill when he stopped Georges Van Der Talen:s penalty. A collision led to Olympiacos FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Miltiadis Tsiranidis hit a great ball. Eustratios Vertsotis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cedric Van Landewijck in the 97th minute of play. Eustratios Vertsotis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per Qvalfeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. SK Dreigoten's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
