Artur Sterckmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cumali Radi, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Sezer İnan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Artur Sterckmans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Sterckmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Öztürk Umuralp in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Gillis Lembrechts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Schoonwater fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. KV Schoonwater's Artur Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xabi Alonso in the 18th minute of play. Menderes Hikmet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorie Kloots, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Gothic Souls booed when KV Schoonwater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattias Vanden Driessche didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Öztürk Umuralp in the 22nd minute of play forced KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Artur Sterckmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumali Radi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Sterckmans having to interfere. In the 27th minute Sezer İnan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Sterckmans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 minutes, Öztürk Umuralp made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. KV Schoonwater's Artur Sterckmans tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Menderes Hikmet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 45 played minutes Gothic Souls got a freekick which was hit by Xabi Alonso. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Öztürk Umuralp to make the kick off. Artur Sterckmans made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Cumali Radi sent off a good shot on target. 63 minutes into the match, Gregorie Kloots had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Menderes Hikmet. Gothic Souls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregorie Kloots was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. After 69 minutes of play, KV Schoonwater's Gillis Lembrechts made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Menderes Hikmet was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Gothic Souls's Yıldırım Mertkal got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 76th minute Gregorie Kloots shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Menderes Hikmet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Gothic Souls getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Aşkın Behzat hit a great ball. KV Schoonwater's Primitivo Formerio was substituted for Armand Hemeleers. KV Schoonwater's Ivo Streels was substituted for Mattias Vanden Driessche. In the 87th match minute, KV Schoonwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armand Hemeleers to maneuver through the defense. When Ivo Streels came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the KV Schoonwater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivo Streels couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute Ivo Streels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Menderes Hikmet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Menderes Hikmet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorie Kloots in the 95th minute of the match. Gothic Souls's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
