When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Andrea Xuereb sped through Piquirenda FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bartolo Amato. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvestre Peter in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amadeo Rapinett prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Silvestre Peter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeo Rapinett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piquirenda FC's Serafin Igon got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Attard Gunners's zone, Franco Mastantuono stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeo Rapinett came out of the goal and Franco Mastantuono tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st match minute, Piquirenda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ambrosio Lidon to maneuver through the defense.
