Spectators: 7680 (Terracing: 5761, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 153) KV Schoonwater's Gillis Lembrechts started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gert-Jan Van de Velde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregorie Kloots in the 9th minute of play. Artur Sterckmans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Caniggia in the 13th minute. Gert-Jan Van de Velde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gregorie Kloots's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Maxime Caes made a precise shot to the right of Gert-Jan Van de Velde. De Keikoppers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Gillis Lembrechts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gert-Jan Van de Velde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gillis Lembrechts, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Kobe Vanneste came free, but Artur Sterckmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. KV Schoonwater's Artur Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Naets in the 27th minute of play. Artur Sterckmans made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Erwin Naets sent off a good shot on target. Gert-Jan Van de Velde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregorie Kloots in the 31st minute of the match. Artur Sterckmans was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Kobe Vanneste capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kobe Vanneste really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After 41 minutes, Ramon Caniggia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Keikoppers and the KV Schoonwater players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ramon Caniggia hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Gert-Jan Van de Velde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludo De Maerschalckx, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute Ludo De Maerschalckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gert-Jan Van de Velde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Artur Sterckmans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Caniggia in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to De Keikoppers getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Ramon Caniggia hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, De Keikoppers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Francken to maneuver through the defense. If Gillis Lembrechts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 63 minutes of play, De Keikoppers's Ramon Caniggia made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Sterckmans was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, De Keikoppers's Gert-Jan Van de Velde got control of the ball when Ludo De Maerschalckx tried to sneak it across the goal line. Artur Sterckmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Naets, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Ramon Caniggia took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Sterckmans. Artur Sterckmans dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Boris Paelinck was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in KV Schoonwater fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Gert-Jan Van de Velde made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gillis Lembrechts in the 96th minute. KV Schoonwater's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
