Victorio Monte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleazar Vera having to interfere. Joaquín Patron struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Serbülent Baysan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CSD Concepción. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Alexandrino Gameiro made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to FC Anderlecht Huachipato getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Carlos José Opazo hit a great ball. Serbülent Baysan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The CSD Concepción fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eleazar Vera should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Alexandrino Gameiro got a free kick in the 81st minute. In the 83rd minute, Roberto-Carlos Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 87 played minutes FC Anderlecht Huachipato got a freekick which was hit by Carlos José Opazo. Serbülent Baysan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquín Patron in the 88th minute. With a little luck, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Serbülent Baysan got control of the ball when Teofilo Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line.
