Mali i Thatë FC's Genci Qatipi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo Pereira in the 28th minute of play. Eneid Ilo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised José Maria Pontes 41 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Mali i Thatë FC defense, Nildo Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Genci Qatipi. The Mali i Thatë FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Genci Qatipi should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Meleq Tare made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Mali i Thatë FC's goal looked a bit too open when William Rossi came free, but Genci Qatipi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Meleq Tare's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Maria Pontes was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 88th minute Meleq Tare shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Maria Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Maria Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Meleq Tare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Maria Pontes came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Mali i Thatë FC's Eneid Ilo. But to his dismay, Eneid Ilo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. Genci Qatipi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Carioca in the 94th minute of the match. Mali i Thatë FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
