Giovani de Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Boyer in the 3rd minute of the match. Giovani de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vergaray Bernabeytia in the 4th minute of play. In the 17th minute, Vergaray Bernabeytia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovani de Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Augusto de Barros got free with Pascal Avalos in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Giovani de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darryl Hardin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Baez in the 28th minute of play forced Portuguesa's goalkeeper Giovani de Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Portuguesa's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Baez came free, but Giovani de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The S.D. Bajen fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when S.D. Bajen's Vergaray Bernabeytia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vergaray Bernabeytia in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovani de Amaral saved Portuguesa from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Afonsinho Mattos during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedro Augusto de Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Pascal Avalos made a huge save. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Betinho Severo was the one to do the kick off. Pascal Avalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto de Barros in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamílton de Almeida in the 59th minute of play forced S.D. Bajen's goalkeeper Pascal Avalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Pedro Augusto de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascal Avalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Yuri de Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Portuguesa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.D. Bajen the free kick. A collision led to Portuguesa getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Bajen's Jorge Baez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Giovani de Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.D. Bajen reached it. Abraham Boyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Pedro Augusto de Barros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portuguesa and the S.D. Bajen players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute Vergaray Bernabeytia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abraham Boyer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovani de Amaral having to interfere. S.D. Bajen's Chance Holley was substituted for Darryl Hardin.
