The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bruno Elia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bastian Ytterstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the game, Kenneth Foldnes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Bruno Elia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Brufoss IL's Olav Øverby got control of the ball when Eduardo Duardo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Wallace FC's Ceferino Palos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olav Øverby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Ceferino Palos notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Brufoss IL's Olav Øverby. Olav Øverby was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 25 minutes into the match, Wallace FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tor-Egil Arntsen came free, but Bruno Elia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Damian Dominix fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wallace FC's protests and gave Damian Dominix a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wallace FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Damian Dominix hit a great ball. Brufoss IL's Olav Øverby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Chano in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Jon-Egil Grønli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brufoss IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wallace FC the free kick. The supporters of Wallace FC booed when Brufoss IL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Egil Grønli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Olav Øverby, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Olav Øverby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Duardo. 33 minutes into the match, Ceferino Palos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Olav Øverby, 2-1. In the 36th minute, Tor-Egil Arntsen made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Elia. Wallace FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 39th minute Tor-Egil Arntsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Elia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Rami's late challenge caught a Brufoss IL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mariano Rami helped the player get up and apologised. Mariano Rami kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of Brufoss IL:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Wallace FC:s goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Duardo to make the kick off. Bruno Elia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenneth Foldnes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tor-Egil Arntsen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Bruno Elia firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 58th match minute, Brufoss IL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenneth Foldnes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tor-Egil Arntsen got free with Bruno Elia in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Wallace FC's Severino Montel got a free kick in the 64th minute. Brufoss IL made a substitution. Eskil Almaas replaced Tore Fagermo. Brufoss IL's Kim-André Valle was substituted for Leif Mæhlum. Brufoss IL's Kevin Hægeland was substituted for Tor-Egil Arntsen. Brufoss IL's Olav Øverby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Duardo in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Brufoss IL's Kevin Hægeland ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bruno Elia. Bruno Elia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Brufoss IL's Bastian Ytterstad slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bruno Elia. That made the score 2-4 after 78 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Duardo in the 80th minute of play forced Brufoss IL's goalkeeper Olav Øverby to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Elia came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Brufoss IL's Kevin Hægeland. But to his dismay, Kevin Hægeland quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. Brufoss IL's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
