Spectators: 7671 (Terracing: 5754, Seating: 1764, VIP seats: 153) Loja S.C.'s José Viego started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alexandro Antoniano kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Felix Pascua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Romeri having to make a save. When Melchor Nayely came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Bahía é Carnaval fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Melchor Nayely couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the match, Bahía é Carnaval's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Pascua came free, but Sergio Romeri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonzo Delfino in the 26th minute of play. If Rene Carrandi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Pascua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Pascua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Pascua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Romeri having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vachon Secada during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After recieving a nice pass, Bahía é Carnaval's Ciriaco Paez tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alonzo Delfino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felix Pascua received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sergio Romeri came out and tried to block the shot, but Felix Pascua slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the game, Paulino Domingues was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bahía é Carnaval's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Loja S.C. the free kick. A collision led to Bahía é Carnaval getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Paulino Domingues hit a great ball. After 56 minutes of play, Loja S.C.'s Felix Pascua made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sergio Romeri was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 61st minute Melchor Nayely shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Lecea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Ciriaco Paez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea did a great save. Rene Carrandi kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Bahía é Carnaval's Melchor Nayely got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 68 minutes, Alonzo Delfino made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rene Carrandi struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Sergio Romeri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Loja S.C.. 73 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alonzo Delfino came free, but Fidel Lecea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, Rene Carrandi notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Bahía é Carnaval's Sergio Romeri. Sergio Romeri was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Felix Pascua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sergio Romeri having to make a save. José Viego could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Sergio Romeri made a huge save. With a little luck, Bahía é Carnaval's Sergio Romeri got control of the ball when José Viego tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Loja S.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
