Spectators: 7740 (Terracing: 5806, Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reynaldo Fernandez started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute Erubiel Dubardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Gau made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reynaldo Fernandez in the 8th minute. Murillo Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. After 14th play minutes Alberto Tello shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Valério Seco and just under the crossbar into goal. Rogério Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Cristian Gau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynaldo Fernandez who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Cristian Gau when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Dinei Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valério Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tello in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute of the match Guararapes got a corner. Copérnico F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Reynaldo Fernandez ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Guararapes's Reynaldo Fernandez to fire away a dangerous shot which Cristian Gau despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cristian Gau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Fernandez in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th minute Reynaldo Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiago Gabriel Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valério Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erubiel Dubardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the game, Copérnico F.C.'s Erubiel Dubardo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valério Seco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A hard shot 45 in the game by Reynaldo Fernandez from a close distance when the talented Cristian Gau managed to make a qualified save. Copérnico F.C.'s players were relieved. The Guararapes players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Copérnico F.C. were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sixto Jurgi to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Fernandez in the 56th minute of play forced Copérnico F.C.'s goalkeeper Cristian Gau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guararapes's Rogério Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Gau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Gabriel Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Armando Padro charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armando Padro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Copérnico F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Armando Padro. After a rather tough play, Guararapes's Conrado Leite got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Cristian Gau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Fernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Guararapes fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Guararapes's Reynaldo Fernandez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 95 minutes into the game, Rogério Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guararapes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Copérnico F.C. the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Guararapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Copérnico F.C. had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
