The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tamboril's Valdomiro Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Valdemar Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Lopez in the 6th minute of play. In the 8thth minute of the game Remo Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tamboril's Abelardo Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valdemar Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. If Remo Carneiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulisses Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Quadros having to interfere. Abelardo Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Tamboril was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrianinho Camargo to maneuver through the defense. Abelardo Diniz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The supporters of Tamboril booed when Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tostão Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrianinho Camargo during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Lopez in the 33rd minute of play forced Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s goalkeeper Valdemar Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Adrianinho Camargo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th minute, Ulisses Antunes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Valdemar Quadros. The goal made the score 1-0. Valdemar Quadros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdomiro Garcia in the 40th minute. A collision led to Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Vítor Lara hit a great ball. Felipe Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Valdemar Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eurico Pinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valdemar Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felipe Lopez in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdemar Quadros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdomiro Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Abelardo Diniz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flávio Branco in the 57th minute. Manfredo Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Valdomiro Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdemar Quadros was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Felipe Lopez hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Ulisses Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tamboril's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Valdemar Quadros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro Garcia's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Flávio Branco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Abelardo Diniz made a huge save. In the 91st minute, Flavinho Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Tamboril's zone, Remo Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Diniz came out of the goal and Remo Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tamboril were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ- for a fine match.
