The referee ignored Boquenses's protests and gave Anastasio Balendin a yellow card for diving instead. Anastasio Balendin hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Patrick Buttigieg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Prudencio Mannie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sliema Dragons FC were furious when Luigi Muscat was red carded, 24 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Boquenses booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luigi Muscat didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Placido Bidari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Severiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Aristides Hotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 played minutes Boquenses got a freekick which was hit by Teo Eguzki. Leo Scalpello's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Prudencio Mannie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Placido Bidari came free, but Marcelo Severiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Prudencio Mannie came out of the goal in the 49th minute to try and stop a shot by Sliema Dragons FC's Leo Scalpello. But to his dismay, Leo Scalpello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 62nd match minute, Sliema Dragons FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugon Debowski to maneuver through the defense. When Leon Desira fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sliema Dragons FC's protests and gave Leon Desira a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Boquenses booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Desira didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Sliema Dragons FC's Marcelo Severiano got control of the ball when Aristides Hotz tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Leo Scalpello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Placido Bidari got free with Marcelo Severiano in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes into the game, Joaquin Martxot recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Severiano. Joaquin Martxot showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 78th match minute, Boquenses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Iruinea to maneuver through the defense. Boquenses made a substitution. Vladimiro Theodore replaced Damian Bero. A collision led to Boquenses getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Artemio Iruinea hit a great ball. Prudencio Mannie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugon Debowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Sliema Dragons FC's Marcelo Severiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladimiro Theodore in the 84th minute of play. Neil Deguara hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. A collision led to Boquenses getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Aristides Hotz hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the game, Vladimiro Theodore recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelo Severiano. Vladimiro Theodore showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2.
