Sliema Dragons FC's Marcelo Severiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Silvanito in the 19th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lino Txartiko in the 26th minute of play forced Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Severiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Patrick Buttigieg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Silvanito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Marcelo Severiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sliema Dragons FC's Marcelo Severiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Silvanito in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Florida United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ciriaco Dimas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Neil Deguara got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 55th minute of the match Guido Primo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelo Severiano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Severiano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Primo. The supporters of Sliema Dragons FC booed when Florida United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Rozarius didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Florida United's Guido Primo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelo Severiano. Marcelo Severiano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. 88 minutes into the match, Florida United's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Buttigieg came free, but Miguel Filipo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Luigi Muscat put in a rough tackle. After 95 minutes of play, Florida United's Guido Primo made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Severiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Florida United were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Sliema Dragons FC's much stronger midfield.
