In the 5th minute of the game, Sebastian Ongile landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 5 minutes, Oscar Ruggeri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papillon AC and the LEBRON players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of LEBRON booed when Papillon AC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Ruggeri didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Papillon AC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Juan Fernando Quintero hit a great ball. After having played for 8 minutes, Aquilino Eron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LEBRON's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aquilino Eron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The corner led Papillon AC's Benigno Johans to fire away a dangerous shot which Agustin Marchesan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Evelio Acevedo fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LEBRON's protests and gave Evelio Acevedo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, Evelio Acevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agustin Marchesan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Fernando Quintero in the 18th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, LEBRON's Eugenio Gartxot threw himself towards the right post 21 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Evelio Acevedo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. LEBRON's Agustin Marchesan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olli-Pekka Suoste in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute Evelio Acevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugenio Gartxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aquilino Eron in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenio Gartxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Olli-Pekka Suoste during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes Papillon AC got a freekick which was hit by Olli-Pekka Suoste. Alexis Mac Allister hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Evelio Acevedo struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Eugenio Gartxot didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LEBRON. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olli-Pekka Suoste was the one to do the kick off. Eugenio Gartxot was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Driussi got free with Agustin Marchesan in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Agustin Marchesan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olli-Pekka Suoste in the 78th minute of play. Agustin Marchesan made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Olli-Pekka Suoste sent off a good shot on target. LEBRON's Agustin Marchesan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save LEBRON from getting a goal against them. Eugenio Gartxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evelio Acevedo in the 86th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Paulo Maore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
