The crowd rose to their feet as Teun Otten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wes Gillespie. That made the score 1-2 in the 22 minute of play. After 24 minutes of play, ForestFire's Lane Martinez made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfred Oevermans was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of ForestFire booed when De Kasteelheren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martien Meerdink didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgardo Courtney took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 29th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfred Oevermans. De Kasteelheren's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, De Kasteelheren's Guus Kolman got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Alfred Oevermans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuan Zimmerman in the 34th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, De Kasteelheren's goal looked a bit too open when Lane Martinez came free, but Alfred Oevermans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 44 minutes into the game, Teun Otten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hub Groten to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tuan Zimmerman during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to ForestFire getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Tuan Zimmerman hit a great ball. Alfred Oevermans came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by ForestFire's Tuan Zimmerman.
