Keith DeGaetanos short, quick shot in the 21stth minute got Mirko Vervoort to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mirko Vervoort showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Degiorgio in the 23rd minute of the match. Samuel Demicoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieter de Zwart, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Peppino Azzopardi came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peppino Azzopardi couldn't finish the play. In the 35th match minute, Mijdrecht Maffia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerrit Driel to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Keith DeGaetano got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan Rein Roetering in the 41st minute of play forced Templars FC's goalkeeper Samuel Demicoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gert Smits to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Gert Smits managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mijdrecht Maffia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert Smits was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Demicoli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gert Smits's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Mijdrecht Maffia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 79 minutes into the game, Jan Rein Roetering recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Samuel Demicoli. Jan Rein Roetering showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. 82 minutes into the match, Mijdrecht Maffia's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Friggieri came free, but Mirko Vervoort reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
