Spectators: 7660 (Terracing: 5747, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Roland Varga got the match started through his kick off. 7 minutes into the match, Szolnoki MÁV's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Claus came free, but Ottó Szántó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Szolnoki MÁV's Lukács Antal got a free kick in the 7th minute. Ottó Szántó came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros. But to his dismay, Björn Mokros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 10 played minutes Szolnoki MÁV got a freekick which was hit by Csanád Újvári. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Mokros in the 13th minute of play forced Szolnoki MÁV's goalkeeper Ottó Szántó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ottó Szántó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurizio Brink in the 14th minute of the match. If Ivo Claus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ivo Claus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ottó Szántó made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ottó Szántó took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sascha Andre Rennert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rot-Weiss-Essen's Elmar Assing got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ottó Szántó was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ottó Szántó came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ivo Claus. But to his dismay, Ivo Claus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Ottó Szántó stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivo Claus's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. After 39 minutes of play, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Björn Mokros made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ottó Szántó was left in no man's land by his defense there! 42 minutes into the match, Szolnoki MÁV's goal looked a bit too open when Sascha Andre Rennert came free, but Ottó Szántó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Szolnoki MÁV's Csanád Újvári dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. After the first half Rot-Weiss-Essen were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ivo Claus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Uwe Ziege didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Szolnoki MÁV's Patrik Almási shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Sascha Andre Rennert scored 2-6 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ottó Szántó, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Szolnoki MÁV's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Claus came free, but Ottó Szántó reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Szolnoki MÁV's goalkeeper Ottó Szántó had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Björn Mokros. Ottó Szántó took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Claus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes of play, Szolnoki MÁV's Roland Varga made it 3-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Uwe Ziege was left in no man's land by his defense there! Szolnoki MÁV's Ottó Szántó played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Claus in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Lukács Antal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Sascha Andre Rennert hit a great ball. Ottó Szántó was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Ivo Claus capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ivo Claus really showed his touch with that goal: 4-7. In the 85th minute, Sascha Andre Rennert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Roland Varga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Szolnoki MÁV's Ottó Szántó played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurizio Brink in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute Roland Varga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uwe Ziege saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
