With a little luck, VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Haralampi Kúrkelanov got control of the ball when Sascha Andre Rennert tried to sneak it across the goal line. When VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Rostislav Sitarski in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 14th minute, Björn Mokros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Uwe Ziege didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Vihren Bozhanov shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. After 21 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Jackisch. Sascha Andre Rennert kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Uwe Ziege showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vihren Bozhanov in the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of VN SOKOLI-VARNA booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jo Felski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vihren Bozhanov took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Uwe Ziege. Uwe Ziege dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Haralampi Kúrkelanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Mokros in the 46th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sascha Andre Rennert got free with Haralampi Kúrkelanov in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half VN SOKOLI-VARNA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivo Claus made a kick off. Haralampi Kúrkelanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Björn Mokros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute of the match, Rostislav Sitarski got a very nice opportunity to score, but Uwe Ziege was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pavlin Bochev hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, VN SOKOLI-VARNA's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Claus came free, but Haralampi Kúrkelanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Haralampi Kúrkelanov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björn Mokros in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Björn Mokros to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Uwe Ziege threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vihren Bozhanov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Vasco Jackisch hit a great ball. Uwe Ziege acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Trifon Mladenov. After 71 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Vasco Jackisch. Uwe Ziege made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Rostislav Sitarski sent off a good shot on target. Haralampi Kúrkelanov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurizio Brink in the 77th minute of the match. Uwe Ziege showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vihren Bozhanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Argir Ilchev hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Hannes Kapell sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haralampi Kúrkelanov skillfully saved the ball. After 82 minutes, Ilko Garvanov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VN SOKOLI-VARNA and the Rot-Weiss-Essen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ilko Garvanov hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Rostislav Sitarski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 87 minutes, Uwe Ziege successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Mokros in the 91st minute of play forced VN SOKOLI-VARNA's goalkeeper Haralampi Kúrkelanov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 91 played minutes VN SOKOLI-VARNA got a freekick which was hit by Rostislav Sitarski. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. VN SOKOLI-VARNA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
