When Donato Vachon came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Vachon couldn't finish the play. After 26 minutes of play, Palermo's Donato Vachon made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horácio Caiado was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute, Donato Vachon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Donato Vachon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Caiado having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Palermo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
