The corner ended in László Pálinkás almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Nova Venécia-ES's Ismael Brito did a great save. In the game's 10th minute SÉ SE's László Pálinkás took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Ismael Brito and thus the score was 1-0. When Mátyás Török fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SÉ SE's protests and gave Mátyás Török a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, SÉ SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mátyás Török to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SÉ SE booed when Nova Venécia-ES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Secco didn't get a good kick on the ball. László Pálinkás struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Ismael Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SÉ SE. SÉ SE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Eduardo Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pál Pulai during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to SÉ SE getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Pál Pulai hit a great ball. SÉ SE's Gyula Grosics played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Pedro Cardoso in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Gyula Grosics showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Cardoso in the 51st minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, SÉ SE's goalkeeper Gyula Grosics had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Pedro Cardoso. 56 minutes into the match, SÉ SE's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Silveira came free, but Gyula Grosics reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Aparecido took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gyula Grosics. Gyula Grosics made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Pedro Cardoso in the 76th minute. In the 80th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedro Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. After 86 minutes of play, Nova Venécia-ES's Mário Aparecido made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gyula Grosics was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Guilherme de Mendonça hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes Nova Venécia-ES got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Eduardo Sanches. 92 minutes into the match, Mátyás Török had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Brito. Nova Venécia-ES's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mátyás Török was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-4. In the 96th minute, Mátyás Török left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SÉ SE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4.
