Albert Christensen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Ilie Brumaru made a huge save. In the 24th minute, Olimpiu Teodorescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Dylon Farmer in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Cosula-BTF-'s Manuel Neicu. 28 minutes into the match, Ampthill FC's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Teodorescu came free, but Harvey Paget reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olimpiu Teodorescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ampthill FC defense, Petruț Dugulescu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harvey Paget. The Ampthill FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harvey Paget should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olimpiu Teodorescu made a kick off. Paul Francis hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. If Petruț Dugulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ampthill FC's zone, Olimpiu Teodorescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harvey Paget came out of the goal and Olimpiu Teodorescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petruț Dugulescu scored 0-5 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Harvey Paget, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute Olimpiu Teodorescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Paget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Manuel Neicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Cosula-BTF- would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
