Spectators: 7666 (Terracing: 5751, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) Montesacro FC's Ciro Di Martino started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Johnathan Morse came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Ampthill FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Morse couldn't finish the play. Nicolau Madruga kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Ciro Di Martino kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Montesacro FC's Beppe Cannavacciuolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Platt in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Barry Poynton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beppe Cannavacciuolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beppe Cannavacciuolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Platt in the 19th minute of play. Johnathan Morse took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beppe Cannavacciuolo. Beppe Cannavacciuolo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roger Platt in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Beppe Cannavacciuolo saved Montesacro FC from getting behind. Beppe Cannavacciuolo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathan Morse in the 30th minute of play. Beppe Cannavacciuolo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Poynton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beppe Cannavacciuolo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Barry Poynton went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 44th minute Bruno Valcareggi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harvey Paget saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roger Platt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jamie Kemp was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. In the 52nd minute, one of Ampthill FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ampthill FC. The supporters of Montesacro FC booed when Ampthill FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Larry Hallam didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 played minutes, Montesacro FC's Alberigo Colaneri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Harvey Paget came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montesacro FC reached it. Beppe Cannavacciuolo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Poynton, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, Montesacro FC's Ciro Di Martino got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Beppe Cannavacciuolo was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Barry Poynton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Barry Poynton really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Harvey Paget took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmondo Monzeglio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ampthill FC's Harvey Paget played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmondo Monzeglio in the 86th minute of play. Harvey Paget made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Monzeglio in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele Tabacco in the 92nd minute of play forced Ampthill FC's goalkeeper Harvey Paget to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Barry Poynton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beppe Cannavacciuolo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Palumbo kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Ampthill FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ampthill FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
