After 28 minutes, Adriano Coccia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Aquile Azzurre and the Atletico Patoruzu players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miro Klose in the 31st minute of play forced Atletico Patoruzu's goalkeeper Waldo Hills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Aquile Azzurre's Angelo Peruzzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Cavazos in the 32nd minute of play. Waldo Hills stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miro Klose's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Patoruzu's zone, Franco Catena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldo Hills came out of the goal and Franco Catena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute Eliseo Cavazos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Peruzzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eliseo Cavazos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Angelo Peruzzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor Presley, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Miro Klose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldo Hills having to interfere. Cosimo Rondinelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldo Hills having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Aquile Azzurre's Carmine Gori got a free kick in the 75th minute. Connor Presley hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 83rd match minute, Atletico Patoruzu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Connor Presley to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the game, Miro Klose recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Waldo Hills. Miro Klose showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Angelo Peruzzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor Presley, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
