After a defensive mix-up in Verwachting's zone, Marcelino Bixintxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henk-Jan Opdam hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Wilfred Vonk got a free kick in the 29th minute. Edelmiro Silban received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Casper Enting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Han Sibon the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Verwachting protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Han Sibon had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch.
