Luis María Rodriguez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorato Ihintza having to interfere. With a little luck, Yala's Honorato Ihintza got control of the ball when Luis María Rodriguez tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute Primitivo Eguen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Honorato Ihintza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Plebeyos getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Daniel Nerio hit a great ball. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niki Bundev, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Froilan Arlo fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yala's protests and gave Froilan Arlo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, Yala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Arlo to maneuver through the defense. After 34th play minutes Primitivo Eguen shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Honorato Ihintza and just under the crossbar into goal. Niki Bundev's late challenge caught a Plebeyos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niki Bundev helped the player get up and apologised. After 37 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Niki Bundev. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Primitivo Eguen sped through Yala's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Honorato Ihintza. In the 41st minute, Omar Montes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Plebeyos's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moises Bermund in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Yala getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. German Pezzella hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Niki Bundev made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Niki Bundev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Manuel Goyeneche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Primitivo Eguen in the 56th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Honorato Ihintza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Niki Bundev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yala's Honorato Ihintza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Primitivo Eguen in the 63rd minute of play. When Daniel Nerio came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Plebeyos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Nerio couldn't finish the play. Carlos Manuel Goyeneche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Bermund, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 74 minutes Plebeyos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Niki Bundev who took care of the corner kick. Niki Bundev made a great header on Yala's corner, it was just that Plebeyos's Carlos Manuel Goyeneche managed to reach the ball for a save. 76 minutes into the match, Niki Bundev dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Carlos Manuel Goyeneche, 2-2. Niki Bundev was shown his second yellow card after 95 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 96 played minutes Yala got a freekick which was hit by Niki Bundev. After 96 played minutes, Plebeyos's Primitivo Eguen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Honorato Ihintza came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Plebeyos reached it. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Yala players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
