Cristopher Herndon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nanda Boparai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 28th minute, Nanda Boparai ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cristopher Herndon was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 32 minutes into the match, Inmortales FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nanda Boparai came free, but Cristopher Herndon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristopher Herndon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alonzo Tolino in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Arrecifes's Nanda Boparai nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cristopher Herndon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 44 played minutes Inmortales FC got a freekick which was hit by Mike Travis. In the 45th minute, Inmortales FC's Lance Lord seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lance Lord the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Inmortales FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lance Lord had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Lance Lord hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Donato Valentine managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrecifes's supporters rose to their feet, but Donato Valentine was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristopher Herndon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mike Travis to make the kick off. After 72 minutes, Wade Hadley mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inmortales FC and the Arrecifes players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match was over Arrecifes could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Inmortales FC throughout the match.
