After 28 minutes, Lázaro Berdoi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Congo Bongo and the Zuberbühler FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Diego Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Crispo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Telo in the 43rd minute of play forced Zuberbühler FC's goalkeeper Zoran Zahrádka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Congo Bongo's Diego Ceresso got control of the ball when Wilfredo Vargas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victoriano Jerrold stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Congo Bongo's Jonatan Bortzaioriz got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Zuberbühler FC's Braulio Neto was substituted for Erubiel Felo. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Congo Bongo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
