The supporters of Los Gallos booed when MZ Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Rebelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zarco Bandeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Abellan, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walder Kannemann during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when Los Gallos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walder Kannemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of Los Gallos booed when MZ Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Normando Maltez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zarco Bandeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Amaya in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to MZ Fénix getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Vicente Domingues hit a great ball. Noel Tinoco struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Sérgio Goycochea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MZ Fénix. When Noel Tinoco came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the MZ Fénix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Noel Tinoco couldn't finish the play. Zarco Bandeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Amaya in the 29th minute of play. After some careless play in the MZ Fénix defense, Marcos Abellan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarco Bandeira. The MZ Fénix fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarco Bandeira should have stopped the shot. In the 37th minute of the match Los Gallos got a corner. MZ Fénix's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Boyko Rushkarski ran over to the corner to take the kick. Boyko Rushkarski made a great header on Los Gallos's corner, it was just that MZ Fénix's Zarco Bandeira managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 43rd minute, Noel Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnoldo Amaya to strike the kick off in the second half. Los Gallos's Sérgio Goycochea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Tinoco in the 53rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, MZ Fénix's Noel Castilho got a free kick in the 61st minute. Sérgio Goycochea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Tinoco in the 64th minute of play. Sérgio Goycochea came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by MZ Fénix's Noel Tinoco. But to his dismay, Noel Tinoco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The audience was convinced that Marcos Abellan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zarco Bandeira was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Noel Tinoco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alex Di Tullio fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Gallos's protests and gave Alex Di Tullio a yellow card for diving instead. After 81 played minutes Los Gallos got a freekick which was hit by Alex Di Tullio. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by MZ Fénix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Boyko Rushkarski was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Gallos's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Los Gallos's corner Marcos Abellan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Zarco Bandeira quite easily take care of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Los Gallos's Marcos Abellan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Zarco Bandeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Sérgio Goycochea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Tinoco, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute Noel Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Goycochea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, MZ Fénix's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Amaya came free, but Zarco Bandeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Los Gallos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los Gallos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
