In the 3rd match minute, The Underdogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk-Jan Zeldenrust to maneuver through the defense. Themistoklis Saveris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerard van den Eede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Ciruel Academy booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brito Montemayor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Paul Daalmeyer made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Coronel Durango sent off a good shot on target. Gerard van den Eede's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Themistoklis Saveris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The Underdogs's Jean-Paul Daalmeyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save The Underdogs from getting a goal against them. In the 22nd minute Gerard van den Eede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themistoklis Saveris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Henk-Jan Zeldenrust. The Underdogs's Jean-Paul Daalmeyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Coronel Durango in the 26th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Glenn Sommers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th match minute, Ciruel Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulryk Brzeszczak to maneuver through the defense. The Underdogs's Gerard van den Eede got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jean-Paul Daalmeyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Crispin Klander, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute Gerard van den Eede shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Themistoklis Saveris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Themistoklis Saveris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard van den Eede in the 46th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Coronel Durango stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Ciruel Academy's goalkeeper Themistoklis Saveris had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerard van den Eede. If Gerard van den Eede had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerard van den Eede in the 56th minute of play forced Ciruel Academy's goalkeeper Themistoklis Saveris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Coronel Durango in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean-Paul Daalmeyer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 62 minutes into the game, José Luis Torrente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ciruel Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Underdogs the free kick. A collision led to Ciruel Academy getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. José Luis Torrente hit a great ball. Brito Montemayor, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Izaak Achterberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Themistoklis Saveris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 67 minutes, Evert Meppelink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Underdogs and the Ciruel Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. Evert Meppelink hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Gerard van den Eede kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Themistoklis Saveris. That made the score 0-2 in the 70 minute of play. Gerard van den Eede's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Themistoklis Saveris read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Ulryk Brzeszczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. The Underdogs walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
